What to Bring to the Polls

Please bring a current and valid identification that contains:

your name and photograph and signature. 
(you can mix & match)

Acceptable forms of identification include:

  • State of Florida Driver's License

  • ID Card issued by the State of Florida

  • U. S. Passport

  • Debit/Credit Cards

  • Military ID

  • Student ID

  • Retirement Center ID

  • Public Assistance ID

  • Neighborhood Association ID

The identification at the polls is used solely to
 confirm the voter's identity not to verify the
 voter's ID number or address.

You can use this form to:

     Register to vote in the State of Florida
     Change name or address
     Replace your defaced, lost or stolen Voter Information Card
     Register with a political party or change party affiliation
     and **Extremely Important** UPDATE YOUR SIGNATURE
       (if Voting by Mail your ballot will not be counted if your signature
         does not match your signature on file with the Elections Department)

Eligibility Requirements for Registration

Who can register to vote:
  • You must be 18 years old or older (Pre-registration begins at 16)
  • You must be a citizen of the United States.  There is no length
     of time that you must be a citizen before registering to vote.
  • You must reside in Miami-Dade County. There is no length of time
     that you must live in the county before registering to vote as long
     as you register 29 days before the election in which you wish to vote.
  • If you are registered in another Florida County (and have not voted in that
    county) and now live in Dade County; you may vote in Dade County
    within the 29 Day Rule.

Who cannot register to vote:
  • Anyone who does not meet the above requirements.
  • Anyone who has been adjudicated mentally incapacitated
     with respect to voting, and has not had his/her right to vote restored.
  • Anyone convicted of a felony who has not had his/her civil rights restored.
